Let’s Get a Little More Positivity Up In Here.
That last blog was a bit of a downer, but necessary for my story – and hey, at least you didn’t have to live through it (and if you had a similar marriage situation after kids, let’s definitely sit down and trade the stories that made us stronger).
Now, let’s get back to my successes! Let’s say we’re about 2 months into this journey, and 20 lbs down now. I was steady with losing about 2.5 lbs per week, so was able to add a few calories after that 2 month visit – now I got to test my newly acquired and practiced food relationship skills with 1,600 calories – yahoooooo!! Figuring out where to graciously spread that joyous caloric increase of 400 was delightful, even though I realized that was equivalent to a yogurt and a cheese stick. But, that was more cheese that I got to indulge in, so I’ll take all of the small wins!
I started to notice that stress eating was fading away, as my newest relationship was a strong one, and was tied to my personal goal of feeling like myself again, with a side of less pain and energy that lasted for longer that 10 minutes. Food became my friend, a supportive friend who wanted me to succeed. So hey, I did have one supporter (other than my babies, who didn’t know what I was doing, but smiled a lot when I was happy) – that just made me smile too! How’s that for positivity.
